Klaskin Law Office is an Environmental and
Land Use law firm. KLO is dedicated to solving problems that protect the environment and
the land ownership rights of individuals and communities. We take a holistic approach
that includes representation before
administrative agencies and litigation in the
courts to protect the interests of our clients.

Attorney Klaskin has spent many years in
public service at the local and state level (inlcluding serving for two terms as an
elected member of his town's Zoning Board
of Appeals). He has helped shape and has
drafted significant legislation and policy. His
public administration and public service
experience provides an advantage in
assessing issues and finding creative
solutions for the benefit of his clients, while
his policy experience gives him elevated
insight into the law. Attorney Klaskin brings
these experiences to bear to shape
successful outcomes for his clients.

Klaskin Law Office will use the Connecticut Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), Land Use law, and other state laws, common law actions, and local ordinances to protect the environment and to protect the land ownership rights of Connecticut citizens.

The Connecticut Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) includes a provision that authorizes citizens to act as private attorneys general in protecting the public's interest in maintaining the environment. The Act permits individuals to obtain injunctive relief against environmental harms and even provides for the potential award of reasonable legal fees to a prevailing plaintiff. When successfully implicated in a litigated land dispute, CEPA can help offset legal fees incurred in obtaining results through a lawsuit.
